Getting There

Traveling to Bordeaux is very easy. Bordeaux hosts an international airport with connections to major cities in Europe (such as Rome, Amsterdam, London, Madrid, Dublin or Stockholm) as well as Paris and other cities in France. It is also directly connected to Paris by the high-speed TGV train. If you need a visa, you can find information in the governmental website.

Going from the airport to the conference site

Here is a map of the airport.

  • The public bus line Liane 1 will take you directly to Bordeaux downtown (stop Les Quinconces). The ride is about one hour long, and Liane 1 departures are every 10 minutes (on weekdays) to 30 minutes (Sundays or early mornings); more precise schedules are available here (in French). Ticket price is about 1 euro, and can be purchased on the bus.
  • From Les Quinconces, you need to take the tram Line B, towards Pessac Centre, and stop to Peixotto. The ride is about 25 minutes long, the ticket you bought for your bus journey can be reused for the tram.
  • The Jet'Bus shuttle service is another way of going to Bordeaux from the airport. The final stop of this shuttle is the train station. The journey is about 45 minutes long, buses depart every 45 minutes. Note that the bus ticket is sensibly more expensive than the price of public transportation.
  • Of course, taxis and car rentals are also available at the airport.
